It's a tradition in the American south to eat black eyed peas for luck in the new year.

And while I live in California, I fully embrace this delicious tradition.

πŸŽ‰ Mediterranean Black Eyed Pea Salad: a simple bean salad featuring red bell pepper, green onions, Kalamata olives, and fresh herbs in a Greek vinaigrette dressing.

πŸŽ‰ And for a hot dish, I recommend my friend Janelle's Lebanese Vegan Black Eyed Peas with Greens. The black eyed peas are simmered in garlic, cilantro and onions, with chopped greens and a squeeze of lemon.
